Here are some price examples

Reporter A (Sch C) – Price $1,100

Single Individual who reports their business activity on a Schedule C

They work for multiple agencies and hire an occasional proofreader and scopist

They have 6 or less other tax documents (1099-INT, 1098-E, 1099-R, 1098, etc)

Reporter B (Sch C) (LLC) – Price $1,600

Everything being the same as Reporter A except they have formed an LLC which the IRS is treated as a disregarded entity

Some state requires you to file a tax return for the LLC 

Example: CA 568

Reporter C (Sch C) (LLC) (Multi State) – Price $2,100

Similar to Reporter B, except they are Married with dependents 

They work for multiple agencies and hire proofreaders and scopists on a regular basis

They have 7 or more other tax documents (consolidated 1099’s, K-1’s, etc)

Reporter D (S Corp) (Single State) – Price $2,900

Married Individual with dependents who report their business activity on an 1120S, S Corp tax return

They work for multiple agencies and hire proofreaders and scopists on a regular basis

They have 7 or more other tax documents (consolidated 1099’s, K-1’s, etc)

Reporter E (S Corp) – Price $3,400

Small agency owner who reports their business activity on an 1120S, S Corp tax return

They hire other court reporters, proofreaders and scopists on a regular basis

They have 7 or more other tax documents (consolidated 1099’s, K-1’s)

Bookkeeping starting at $600 a year

Single bank account

Gross receipts under $100,000

Less then 15 bank transaction per month 

Bookkeeping starting at $1,200 a year

Three bank/credit card accounts

Gross receipts under $200,000

Less then 45 bank transaction per month 

Bookkeeping starting at $3,000 a year

Five bank/credit card accounts

Gross receipts over $200,000

Less then 100 bank transaction per month
